Heeren was also a two-time recipient of Susquehanna's "Whatever It Takes Award." In 2014 she was charged with organizing the newly formed process group – a small team leading change, innovation, and process improvement. Her primary responsibilities included managing the university's budget, maintaining the multi-year financial plan, and overseeing the university's insurance and risk management program. Previously, Heeren was assistant vice president for Finance at Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania. Heeren leads a team of experienced professionals and support staff for the following areas: Business Office, Financial Services Center, Payroll, Budget, Business Operations, Dining Services, Bookstore, and Conferences and Special Programs. "She will be an engaged leader on our campus and brings a strong commitment to developing high performing teams." "Diana is a highly motivated finance professional who has 20 years of experience in higher education budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and risk management experience," said Gary Logan, vice president for Finance and Administration, in announcing Heeren's appointment. In this role, she will provide leadership for strategic and long-range financial planning, overseeing the University's annual budget process and budget control, oversight of all financial statements and tax return preparation, and safeguarding all financial assets of the University. Diana Heeren has been named associate vice president for Finance at Trinity University.
